Original Benshan Qing Duanni | Huanglong Mountain Symbiotic Ore Ming & Qing Classic Clay
Mined from natural symbiotic ore of Huanglong Mountain. It is naturally formed by the coexistence of Zini and Lüni historically known as Tuan Shan Qing Duan. As a classic clay popular in the Ming and Qing dynasties, its reserves are scarce.
Merits:
It boasts excellent air permeability and resists black discoloration effectively. The clay features strong structural tension, so teapots rarely deform or collapse during forming, ideal for both plain smooth wares and carved floral pieces.
The pot develops beautifully with consistent use, gradually turning glossy and translucent to achieve the jade-like luster.
Challenges in firing:
Precise kiln temperature is essential. Low temperature will turn the body yellow, while over-firing causes black spots and sand bursts.
The raw ore contains natural impurities. The refining process is labor-intensive, resulting in a low yield of high-grade finished pots.
A brand-new pot has a matte finish. With regular mild tea maintenance, soft sheen emerges within half a month. After months of careful nurturing, the whole pot becomes silky smooth. Its cyan base tone brightens continuously and forms a fine jade patina, making it one of the most collectible Duanni.
Capacity: ~110ml
Multiple-hole filter
Craftsmanship | Semi-Handmade Process
This teapot adopts top-tier semi-handmade craftsmanship. A simple mould is only used to speed up the preliminary shaping of the pot body and ensure uniform, consistent aesthetics across every finished piece. The overwhelming majority of the production work is still completed meticulously by hand, retaining the texture and soul of pure handmade artistry.
