The Bian‑Ying (Flat Cherry) teapot is a timeless rounded form, evolved from the well‑known Xiao‑Ying (Smiling Cherry) shape, refined by master Gu Jingzhou 顾景舟.
Its flattened‑yet‑full body features rich, rounded shoulders that gently taper down toward a neat foot ring. It adopts a tight‑fitted press‑on lid, topped by a small bud‑shaped knob resembling a cherry blossom bud. The elegant three‑bend spout delivers smooth, clean pouring, matched with a gracefully curved flying‑tail handle for comfortable grip.
As a plain, unadorned zisha piece, it follows the golden standard for round teapots: balanced, stable, smooth and well‑proportioned. Though the body is low‑profiled, its silhouette never looks collapsed.
Symbolically, Bian‑Ying carries the wish of peace and ease, with a quiet, humble‑hearted Zen charm.
Well‑suited for ripe Pu‑er, aged white tea, Hong‑Cha and oolong teas.
