“Chun quan tang” is a well-known Zisha teapot studio in the mid-Qing dynasty. This is a Mo Gu piece replicated from one of their pot.

This pot is entirely handmade using high-quality Xiao Hong Ni. It was exclusively redesigned by teacher Ma Pinyi and made by Tang Chong Kai.

The pot has a round and plump body that is flat but not collapsed, presenting an impressive posture of grace and splendor. Its spout is short and delicate, allowing for smooth and powerful pouring. The knob of the pot is slightly flat and round, matching the body of the pot and giving it an elegant appearance. The overall design is soft and graceful, with extended and comfortable curves.

Tang Chongkai is a true expert in traditional craftsmanship, with an unparalleled understanding of aesthetics. Under the careful guidance of our lead artist Ma Pin Yi, he has honed his skills using Zisha as a medium to express the unique and advanced aesthetics of One Space. His works showcase an exquisite blend of traditional Chinese craftsmanship and contemporary artistic expression, imbued with a timeless beauty that speaks to the heart and soul of his audience.

Xiao Hong Ni and Zhuni are both Hong Ni. Xiao Hong Ni is slightly more orange in appearance than other Zhuni and has a smooth texture, similar to Jade. The ore used to make it is denser than Zhuni, which means it requires a higher firing temperature. However, it shares similar qualities with Zhuni and is recommended for brewing aromatic teas with higher notes.

All of the Mo Gu Zhuni pots from One Space have been recreated by Ma Pinyi with contemporary aesthetics in mind. This not only enhances their appearance but also makes them more practical to use, even for the challenging “San Wan Liu” three-bend spout. They also guarantee smooth and strong pouring, which aligns with the tea brewing habits of modern people. This piece not only posses artistic value but are also very practical, comfortable to use, and suitable to hold. The balance between the handle and spout is perfect, and a lot of thought and time has been devoted to making the handle. The handle has a round and plump appearance, but it has been flattened on the inside and modified with obtuse angles, making it very convenient and comfortable to use. Such details take time to perfect, but they are often overlooked in today’s fast-paced market. At One Space, we are committed to producing pots with high-quality clay, excellent craftsmanship, practicality, artistic appreciation value, and attention to detail. These are our specialties, and we take pride in our original intentions and the care we put into making each pot
